Do you remember my describing the young man we met in Liberty Landing (NYC) who was preparing to leave on a solo sailing record attempt to England? Well, he only made it 120 miles before something catastrophic happened to his little boat. There is speculation that he might have hit a submerged object in the ocean.
Here he is just after his departure from our Marina.
And here is is beside the helicopter that rescued him (holding his EPIRB - Emergency Position indicating Radio Beacon)
Obviously, we were glad to hear that his is O.K.
