Olive's Blog

It's finally time to hear from me, Olive, aka Chief Moral Officer, the best Jack Russell ever.

Well, mostly, it's been a pretty good trip. I get to run all around the boat. Too bad they make me wear that damned life vest. You fall in a few times and the parents are all worried about losing their $600 investment.

Here are the things I have enjoyed about this trip. First and most importantly, I am with my humans 24/7. They walk me. They entertain me. I have met squirrels at home, but nothing like this! Everywhere we go, there are big old trees...with squirrels...who I almost can catch...except for my damned leash. And the ducks! Wee!

At every marina, my humans take me when they pay their bill. And I get a treat! Always!!!! Wee! More treats than I ever get at home. Today they took me to the Naval Acadamy, and I got a treat there too! (After I made it through the security). I am so glad my humans pay their taxes so I can reap the benefits.

The last few days have been a little rough, because it has been raining and I couldn't move much. But at least I am not as crabby as my mom when she can't run.

I am quite an attraction. Everyone has to talk about the JACK RUSSELL. Best breed, worst breed. WTF? I rock! Most people like Jacks. On Thursday, my humans were walking me in St Michael's, MD and some other human honked her horn and said "HEY!" Hanging out the

back window was another Jack who could have been my cousin. My Yankee cousin. Just like me. But not quite as pretty.

I am having fun and it's getting better because the sun came out today. I enjoyed sunning on the deck with my humans. They both got haircuts today and I didn't have to, because I shed all my excess hair into the boat.

So I heard that they call me the "Chief Morale Officer." I'm glad to have a title, but mostly I'm glad to be aboard Invictus for the trip of a lifetime. If I can make morale better, I'll do it. Especially if there are more treats.

I need to go to bed, because my paws are starting to hit multiple keys. It happens when I get tired. Good night, moon.

So many smells. So little time.

I wonder if they will like me in New Jersey?
